“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” – Marcus Garvey
A Tree With Roots Music is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your gift goes directly to recording and filming traditional musicians in their communities, paying honoraria to the musicians who share their songs, and making sure every recording is returned to the people it comes from.
Our current campaign: we’re raising $8,500 to return to northern Thailand and document the music of the hill tribes. Learn about the Hill Tribes Project.
